Established in 2024, Shields Motorsports is an emerging family race team in Mooresville, NC. Our team of drivers race quarter midget race cars. Many former and present NASCAR top contenders started their racing career racing quarter midgets. This is right up the teams' alley, to one-day drive for a NASCAR Truck Series, Xfinity Series or Cup Series team.
Team Drivers and Handlers are members of their home track, the North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA) in Salisbury, NC. NCQMA is sanctioned by the NASCAR Youth Series and the United States Auto Club (USAC) by which they are also members.
NCQMA offers 20+ club races per year including a 12-race Club Championship Series, and a 7-race Summer Series, and hosts a couple regional race events each year ~ such series as the Carolina Clash, and the Dixie Shootout Series, a regional traveling series, which we hope to experience in the 2025 season. The NASCAR Youth Series offers a national series that travels all over the country. A few are within a short driving distance from us (i.e. Darlington, SC; Charlotte, NC, Richmond, VA) and we hope to participate in some of these events in the 2025 season.
Shields Motorsports expands in its 2nd season, 2025, by adding a second car and second driver to the team. A younger sibling will start racing and working her way through the Rookie Program until she graduates to a competitive class.

At Shields Motorsports, we encourage everyone to come out and watch a race as talented drivers chase their dreams and the checkered flag.
It is always free for spectators! Buy a treat from an available food truck and relish the sounds of revving motors, the smell of gasoline and burning rubber along with the sounds of screeching tires to get a race started.
